You can come to Cluj by train, plane or car. We advise you on the possibilities and organize your transfer from / to the train station or airport Cluj-Napoca.
Cluj-Napoca is the secret capital of Transylvania, a modern university town with a thousand-year-old history. You can explore the narrow streets, take part in international music and cinema festivals, hang out in a café or visit the old university.
Călimani National Park is a nature reserve in the Călimani Mountains in the Eastern Carpathians in Northern Romania. The National Park is home to numerous wolves, bears and lynx, but also countless flocks of sheep with their shepherds. We are happy to organize walks in this beautiful region.
The Moldavian Monasteries are a group of precious Romanian orthodox monasteries from the 15th and 16th centuries in the Moldova region of Romania. Eight of these art historical gems have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Two or three of them are accessible by car in about 2 hours from our pension.
The Saxon City Bistritz
Stroll with us through the relaxed town of Bistritz, which was founded in the 12th century by German settlers, the Transylvanian Saxons.
The traces of the Saxons are still visible in the city and in the surrounding villages. Find more information here.
Not far from Cluj, is the former salt mine Turda, which was already used by the Romans. Today it is probably the deepest amusement park in the world, a wellness oasis and an impressive museum at the same time. The visit of the 150 m deep former salt mine is absolutely worth seeing!
In the mountains of Transylvania, sheep and goats are driven on alpine pastures in the spring. In herds of 500-800 animals they spend the summer here under the supervision of the shepherds and their dogs. We visit a herd and are invited to dine with the shepherds with simple and traditional food of the region.
